PHOTOGRAPHIC TOUR IN THE AZORES

Day 3

PONTA DELGADA | SETE CIDADES | MOSTEIROS | PONTA DELGADA

Morning: Early departure, at 7:00 am, by Jeep, heading west to Sete Cidades - This is an impressive volcanic complex, where we can find the largest natural freshwater surface reservoir in the Azores. It is characterized by the double coloration of its waters, being divided by a shallow channel, crossed by a low bridge that separates of one side a mirror of waters of green tone and, on the other, a mirror of blue tone.
Depending on the weather conditions you can start by taking a walk along the ridge (around the crater). During this walk there will be time to photograph the ponds, the species of plants and animals present on the site.
We will include passage through belvederes to capture images with different perspectives (Canáriolagoon / Santiago lagoon).
Lunch: in a local restaurant
Afternoon: Visit to the Northwest coast, Santo António - Morro das chapelas - Mosteiros, where the predominant subjects to be photographed will be the coast where black rocks of volcanic origin predominate, the sea, different species of sea birds, ending with the sunset. Dinner: in a local restaurant

Day 4

PONTA DELGADA | LAGOA DO FOGO | MAIA | VILA FRANCA DO CAMPO | FURNAS

Morning: Early departure, at 7:00 am, by Jeep, in the direction of Lagoa do Fogo.
Stop at the various belvederes to photograph.
Visit to the Tea Factory to visit and taste pure tea, whose origin dates back to the 18th century. Lunch: Picnic lunch at the S. Brás Lagoon.
Time to photograph the pond.
Afternoon: Transfer to the south coast, in Vila Franca do Campo to embark on a sailboat to visit the island and the coast of Caloura.
Time to shoot and take underwater pictures approximately 2-3h.
Transfer to Furnas
Dinner: in a local restaurant
Accommodation: Hotel in Ponta Delgada

Day 5

FURNAS

Morning: Early departure, at 7:00 in the Jeep, to the Lagoa das Furnas, known for the visible volcanic activity and thermal waters.
Here we can start by watching the process of preparation of the stew of Furnas. Then we will take a photographic walk around the lagoon. Pass in the Ermida, house of the Boats, botanical garden José do Canto and Cascade.
Lunch: Taste the typical stew in a local restaurant
Afternoon: After lunch stroll through the beautiful Garden of Terra Nostra Park and free time for bathing.
Dinner: In a local restaurant
Accommodation: Local Hotel

Day 8

HORTA | MADALENA (PICO) | LAGIDO | S. ROQUE DO PICO | LAJES DO PICO

Morning: Departure early to watch the sunrise on Mount Espalamaca (Horta) with the Pico mountain in the background. Transfer to the port and departure by boat from Horta to Madalena, at Pico.
Lunch: In a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Passage through the volcanic landscape on the north coast - Lagido - UNESCO Landscape of the Pico Vineyard World Heritage by UNESCO. Pass by S. Roque do Pico.
Dinner: House Ancora in S. Roque do Pico. Transfer to the accommodation, check in and rest.
Accommodation: Local Hotel.

Day 10

LAJES DO PICO | CALHETA DE NESQUIM | CANDELÁRIA | MADALENA | LAJES DO PICO

Morning: Visit to the South coast: Calheta de Nesquim and Lajes do Pico.
Visit to Candelaria - UNESCO Landscape of the Pico Vineyard World Heritage by UNESCO.
Lunch: In farmhouse with wine tasting
Afternoon: Transfer to Magdalena to board for whale watching activity: whale and dolphin watching. Opportunity to photograph these imposing marine animals.
Late afternoon: Debriefing in accommodation and preparation for departure.
Dinner: farewell dinner at the hotel
Accommodation: Local Hotel
