Ranking shows how the country has risen – and in what way – considering who chooses the country to settle for professional reasons.
Portugal is the fifth best country in the world to live and work at. And it is the first, best of all, in an European level. The Expat Insider ranking of Internations, a network of 2.8 million expatriates, refers to these people who decide to move to another country for professional reasons. There are several fields in which Portugal score points and the rise from 2016 to 2017 was a real jump: from 28th place to 5th place among 65 countries. “The quality of life has another star. Portugal is one of the ‘big winners’, improving 23 positions to the top of the ranking. Reading the report we easily notice how the country is in prominence in various areas. To begin with, expatriates feel very welcome (94%). Portugal ranks first in this category.
Then, because people find it easy to settle in the country (88% versus 75% last year). This gave a great push for Portugal to occupy the 4th place in this category. And the third it is related to happiness. People’s sympathy is underlined by 94% of the respondents.
