“Closed on October 3, 2016, the Botanical Garden of Lisbon reopens this Saturday, April 7, after the requalification works.
Inserted within the scope of the Participatory Budgeting project of the Lisbon City Council, the works of requalification of this scientific garden can now finally be appreciated. The works to which the Garden was submitted are essentially infrastructural, being visible the new pavement of all the ways and the recovery of the railings that reveal points of observation of the botanical collections planted there during 140 years of history.
The Botanical Garden is also equipped with drinking fountains, a garden entrance and a new amphitheater in the arboretum.
From 11.00 on Saturday, the reopening of what was considered a national monument in 2010 with the presence of António Cruz Serra, dean of the University of Lisbon, and Fernando Medina, Mayor of Lisbon.” Source Photo: C.A.Garcia
